Description

Do you have proven experience of programme and/or project management working in the defence industry or on naval platforms?

Due to impending maternity leave we require an experienced person to cover this exciting and challenging programme management role leading a complex technical programme relating to SEA’s state of the art external communications system on submarines.

Job Role

You will be:

  • leading and managing a large programme
  • ensuring consistent on-time delivery within budget
  • assuring excellent relationships with customers, suppliers and other external parties

Flexibility and adaptability are key with the ability to support multiple activities at any one time and to refocus effort at short notice.

Whilst this role is based in Beckington, it will require visits to customer and supplier premises, typically for progress and other project related meetings.

Experience Required

Essential:

  • Project and financial planning
  • progress monitoring and reporting
  • risk and opportunity management
  • change and conflict management are all essential skills
  • excellent communication skills
  • a competent user of MS Office packages including MS Project

Flexibility and adaptability are key with the ability to support multiple activities at any one time and to refocus effort at short notice.

Desirable:

  • An appreciation of naval communications technologies and/or systems engineering principles across project life-cycles would be beneficial
